Unlocking new survivors is one of the most rewarding parts of playing Risk of Rain 2. The Loader is a powerful melee survivor who relies on high mobility and heavy-hitting attacks to crush enemies on the battlefield. Understanding how to unlock this character will significantly expand your options during your runs.
Reaching Siren's Call in Your Run
To unlock the Loader, you must first reach the Siren's Call stage during your playthrough. Siren's Call serves as one of the possible fourth-stage environments in the game. You can either reach it naturally through normal stage progression or force the destination using the Lunar Bazaar.
Preparing your character before reaching this stage is essential for a smooth attempt. Having items that increase your mobility and single-target damage will make the upcoming challenge much easier. Taking your time on earlier stages ensures you have enough items to handle the fight ahead.
Finding the Alloy Vulture Nests
Once you arrive at Siren's Call, your main objective is to locate small nests scattered across the map. These small blue nests contain Alloy Vulture eggs hidden within their structures. You need to destroy a total of six nests across the environment to trigger the required boss event.
The nests are located on various platforms, high cliffs, and open spaces throughout the area. Using area-of-effect attacks or high-mobility skills makes hunting down all six nests fast and efficient. Keep track of how many you have destroyed to ensure you do not miss any.
Defeating the Alloy Worship Unit
After destroying the sixth nest, a powerful secret boss called the Alloy Worship Unit will immediately spawn. This boss flies high above the battlefield and utilizes strong energy attacks against your survivor. Defeating this boss is the final requirement to complete the challenge.
Focus your damage output on the boss while staying mobile to dodge its incoming laser attacks and shields. Keeping your distance can help you avoid taking devastating damage during the encounter. Once the Alloy Worship Unit is defeated, you will complete the Guidance Offline achievement instantly.
Unlocking and Playing as the Loader
With the boss defeated, the Loader becomes permanently available on your character select screen for future runs. You do not need to finish the current run or defeat the final boss to retain this unlock. Returning to the main menu allows you to select the Loader right away.
The Loader excels at fast movement using her grapple ability and dealing massive burst damage with charged punches. Mastering her grappling mechanics will allow you to traverse stages with incredible speed and power. Enjoy experimenting with different item combinations to maximize her melee potential.
